Narayanan brings in over 18 years of leadership experience in business and technology and specializes in business strategy development, turnaround management and strategic valuation. He has both consulting and industry experience and has worked with several leading PE firms in North America and Europe assisting them in pre-deal and post-deal situations.

Prior to founding SmartKapital, Narayanan helped a large technology firm where he was responsible for emerging market strategy, which entailed identifying new products/market segments and developing innovative go-to-market approaches.

He also operated at Principal level roles in AT Kearney and PRTM, where he led engagements in commercial/operational due diligence and turnaround management of $500M-$5B size companies under Private Equity management, esp. in automotive and manufacturing. Narayanan also led key strategic initiatives with several clients, including a C-level role establishing the largest B2B exchange in the retail industry.

Narayanan is a charter member of TiE and is passionate on mentoring entrepreneurs.

An avid golfer, Narayanan has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth Business School, and a Masters in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Technology, India.
