Marshall Warwaruk, M & A advisor
Marshall has been a trusted M & A advisor to software executives and founders of IT Service organizations for over 15 years. Prior to founding the DMI Consulting Group and joining SmartKapital, Marshall worked as a Vice President and deal maker with the Corum Group where he specialized in helping small, privately held software and IT services companies maximize shareholder value through strategic investments, merger, acquisitions, and strategic alliances.
Since 1998, he has represented both buyers and sellers, guiding them through the planning and execution process of deal making. Marshall has also been a speaker at numerous industry conferences, and has written and published many articles providing valuable insights into M & A market trends, software valuations, negotiations and strategic deal making in the IT software and services industry.
Before teaming with Corum, Marshall spent more than nine years as a Vice President of Corporate Development at Sterling Software, and Ontrack Data International where he was responsible for strategic planning, acquisitions and assisting business units achieve their operational goals. His career in software sales and marketing started at Cognos where he was head of US product sales, directly responsible for opening and establishing the company’s initial product presence throughout the US. With more than 30 plus years of experience in the computer software and services industry he has served as the President and CEO of several small software companies overseeing their growth and diversification before they were either acquired or taken public.
